Five of The University of Manchester – GREAT Scholarships will be available and applications will open to relevant offer-holders from November.


Applicants who eventually become a successful candidate for this scholarship program, you get to enjoy £10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year master’s programmes in specific subject areas. The scholarships will be awarded in the form of a partial fee waiver.

2. Engineering the Future Scholarships

The Engineering the Future Scholarships are dedicated towards supporting academically excellent international students who do not have enough financial strength to bear the weight of study costs. This scholarship program will be awarded to students who are aspiring to pursue their postgraduate studies at the University of Manchester.


It is important to note that the awards require no additional application as all offer holders are considered based on academic merit. Candidates who are shortlisted may be contacted for further assessment in the form of a written statement.


If you eventually become a successful candidate for the Engineering the Future Scholarships, you get to receive one of the following tuition fee discounts:

Four £10,000 partial tuition fee waivers.


One full tuition fee waiver up to £28,000. Note that this is for the MSc Management of Projects suite of programmes.


Ten £6,000 partial tuition fee waivers.


If you also possess an offer from any of the following departments, you’d be considered for this scholarship:

Department of Chemical Engineering.


Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering.


Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.


Department of Computer Science.



Before you can be considered as an eligible candidate for the Engineering the Future Scholarships, you must:

Be fully registered for your chosen course.


Be a resident of a country within Africa, Asia, South East Asia or South Asia.


Possess a conditional or unconditional offer for a master’s level full time course within The Faculty of Science and Engineering.


Complete an English Language qualification to the required standard for the course.


Possess a bachelor’s degree with at least a good Upper Second class (2:1).
